EA Sports announced additional signings for its āEA Sports MMAā interactive arts video game on Monday via its Web site. Former Dream champion Joachim Hansen, world-ranked heavyweight Josh Barnett and recent UFC returnee Vladimir Matyushenko have all been added to the gameās roster.
The signings reflect the companyās goal to include an international spectrum of talent in the game, which is scheduled for release in fall 2010. The bulk of the gameās debut roster includes a plethora of Strikeforce-signed fighters; the promotion will also be featured as a āpremiere leagueā in the game.
The latest three additions join notable signees Randy Couture, Dan Henderson, Shinya Aoki, Brett Rogers, Jake Shields, Fedor Emelianenko, Gegard Mousasi, Renato "Babalu" Sobral, Gilbert Melendez, and Jason "Mayhem" Miller.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia and Strikeforce middleweights Benji Radach and Tim Kennedy have also announced their involvement with the game in past interviews, though they have not been officially announced.
Strikeforce commentators Mauro Ranallo and Frank Shamrock, as well as ring announcer Jimmy Lennon, will represent their real-life roles in the game. Iconic referee āBigā John McCarthy will oversee the pixilated fights.
